Top Credit Tips
When applying for a loan of any kind, most lenders analyze your credit score to determine if you are likely to repay the money they lend you. This is because, the higher the credit score you have, the less risk they feel you to be. So it is up to you to increase your credit score so as to get loans when needed as quick as possible.
Better Credit Score Tips
It should be noted that increase in the credit score takes place over time, and is not possible overnight. There has to be some ongoing effort from you to achieve a better credit score. Some points that influence your credit score are payment history, length of credit history, types of credit used and amounts you owe. Always pay your bills on time as late payment of bills only leads to a low credit score. If at all you have a problem in paying bills promptly, work out a payment arrangement with your creditor and stick to it. Another way of increasing your credit score is by keeping your credit card balances low as high debt-to-credit-limit ratios only leads to low credit scores. Keep your unused, zero balance accounts open as this also helps your score. It is only time that improves your credit score. However, avoid opening new accounts in a short period as it is a sign of your disability of handling credit responsibly.
It is no point checking credit reports in the hopes of increasing your credit score, because it doesn’t! If you can manage your credit cards responsibly, have a mixture of credit cards, installment loans and loans with fixed payments will raise your credit score. However, having many installment loans also lowers your score as payments usually remain as it is till balances are completely made. Remember, closing an account doesn’t remove it from your report as it is still considered for scoring purposes. Keeping all these points in mind will definitely help you in getting a better credit score.
