Free Annual Government Credit Report

We all need to use our credit score to get something at one time or another. These scores are used for determining your eligibility for new loans, lines of credit and even insurance. The number tells potential creditors how well you have dealt with debt in the past and how much credit you already have in your name. Would you be able to handle more credit? Would you be likely to make payments on time? Would you be at risk for claiming bankruptcy anytime soon?

But before you put in your applications for these things, it is a good idea to know where you stand. Checking your credit report before hand will give you insight as to what the creditor will actually see and how you can work to improve rough spots on your report to increase you credit score number.

Reasons To Check Your Credit Report

You can’t assume that everything is reported correctly to all three credit bureaus. It is smart to check and make sure that each account in your name is only listed once on the whole report, to check and make sure that closed accounts are listed as such and reports that prove your good credit history are listed properly.

When mistakes are spotted early, they tend to be able to be cleared up more easily. The longer they go unseen, the harder it will be for you to get them removed from your report. It is important that you check though because items that are mistakenly placed on your credit report will affect your score and deter creditors from doing business with you. Don’t let a mistake on your record keep you from getting a home loan or a better interest rate on your auto loan. Keep in mind that your score is also figured into your car insurance premium.

Testimonials

Thank you for providing a complete credit website. I discovered an error on my credit history that would have cost me thousands in higher interest rates.
J. Reger

Thanks yourcreditwatchdogs.com, I got my credit report for free and found someone had been using my credit for months. Luckly, I caught it early enough and now my credit has been repaired.
